Working with Imagine Kootenay

We were delighted to work with Imagine Kootenay on a recent relaunch project for them following the partnership of Invest Kootenay and Work West Kootenay to form the new organization “Imagine Kootenay”.

Imagine Kootenay (IK) is a regional partnership in Kootenay and Boundary region of South Eastern BC with the aim of attracting and supporting investment and workforce development throughout the Kootenay and Boundary region.

The organization is closely engaged with the businesses, local governments, chambers of commerce and industry to support economic development activities and initiatives. KendallSmith worked with Imagine Kootenay as it evolved from its previous “invest Kootenay” identity. During this transition, the organization merged with Work West Kootenay and developed an expanded brief, taking in the promotion of employment opportunities as well as investment opportunities across the region.

KendallSmith developed a range of marketing materials to promote the three promotional pillars of “Work”, “Invest” and “Live”. The brief included copywriting, design and public relations, and provided the tools to promote these aspects locally, regionally and internationally.[masterslider id=”2″]

The end result helped to create both a distinctive graphical language and tone of voice for the organization to leverage and raise awareness. KendallSmith was also a contributor to the redesigned website helping to create a welcoming and consistent copy style and tone of voice.

Imagine Kootenay was recently awarded the top honour for marketing and innovation in the province by the BC Economic Development Association. The IK partnership and imaginekootenay.com website were recognized for their website and program branding work at the BC Economic Development Association Summit in Vancouver on June 15th, 2016. Imagine Kootenay competed as a regional program in the category of ‘populations over 20,000’ and was up against projects coming out of the lower mainland and other urban centres.
